Year 1 launched their theme ‘Let’s Explore Where We Live’
On Wednesday 25th April 2012, Year 1 launched their theme ‘Let’s Explore Where We Live’ with a fabulous quiz. Parents and children combined to form teams with some fantastic team names such as ‘The Purple Five’, ‘The Super Marvellous Purple Stars’ and ‘Magnifico’. The teams answered 15 questions all based on the district of Ilford.
The quiz covered lots of different areas and everyone learnt some new facts about the district in which our school is. For example did you know that a mammoth skull was once found in Ilford?
A special well done to the winning team ‘Marvellous Purple Stars,’ who scored an amazing 13 out of 15.
Children and parents really enjoyed the quiz, some of the comments that children made included ‘I liked working in Danya’s team with her mum,’ and ‘I liked learning about Ilford and finding the answers and I liked it when Miss Knight was choosing the winner.’
We would like to thank all the parents that came to take part in the quiz.
